| In English 11 we focus on American literature and poetry, academic writing, and vocabulary development. During the course of the year, we read Athur Miller's The Crucible, Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, and Richard Wright's Black Boy. We also do vocabulary development throughout the year - Latin roots the first semester and other foreign words used in English during the second semester. New words are introduced on Mondays, and vocabulary quizzes are on Fridays. We will study poetry during 3rd quarter. |
