Physical Science

Syllabus

What is Physical Science? Physical science is about the rules of the physical world--physics, chemistry, geology, and astronomy. Just as you can't enjoy a ball game, computer game, or party game until you know it rules, so it is with nature. Nature's rules are beautifully elegant and can be neatly described mathematically.

Your student will gain an understanding of the physical world by studying the fundamental properties of matter, matter in motion, waves, electricity, magnetism (physics) and the structure and changes of matter (chemistry.)

Grading Your students grade is determine by how many points they can get-total points system. Tests, quizzes, labs, and homework are all added together to determine their present which equals a grade. (see grading scale)

Grading Scale (all numbers are in percents)

A 93- 100, A- 90-92,  B+ 87-89 , B 83-86, B- 80-82

C+ 77-79, C 76-73, C- 70-72, D+ 67-69, D 60 - 66

Science Notebook Each student will have to keep a science notebook. They will be due at the end of each quarter and are worth 8 to 10% of the total grade.

Late Work Assignments that are turned in one day late, 50% off, second day is 0.
